What factors should I consider when choosing an office table?

Available space

Before you get too carried away with the exciting world of office table options, grab a measuring tape and assess the available space where your new table will reside. This step is vital for several reasons:

Fit matters: You don't want to end up with a table that's either too large, making your workspace feel cramped, or too small, leaving unused gaps in the room. Measure the width, length, and height of the area.
Accessibility: Make sure that there's enough space around the table for easy movement and accessibility to drawers, cabinets, or any other furniture you plan to place nearby.
Doorways and passageways: Don't forget to measure doorways and hallways through which the table and its components must pass during delivery and assembly. It would be a shame if your new table gets stuck in transit!

Table shape

The first thing to consider when buying an office table is its shape. The shape you choose can greatly affect your work efficiency and how well the table fits in your workspace. Here are the options we stock:

Rectangular: These are the classics and are perfect for traditional office setups. They offer ample workspace and are versatile for various tasks.
Round: Round tables are excellent for collaborative work. They encourage open discussions and can fit nicely into smaller spaces.
Square: Square tables are simple and space-saving, making them great for smaller offices or as additional workstations.
Semi-Circular: this shape works well when there’s limited space. They can fit nicely up against a wall if you’re wanting to stay out of the way.
Trapezoid: this shape works as a stand-alone table, or a group of trapezoid shaped tables can fit together to form a bigger table.
Quarter end: Quarter round shaped meeting end which attaches to a desk for extra meeting space.

Table leg finish

While the tabletop material often takes the spotlight, don't overlook the importance of table leg finishes and colours. These can greatly influence the overall aesthetics and durability of your office table. Here are some common leg finish options:

Chrome: If you're aiming for a modern and sleek look, chrome legs are a great choice. They're not only stylish but also durable and easy to clean.
Aluminium/stainless steel: These come in a shinier finish, or a brushed (matt) finish.
Powder-coated finishes: Powder-coated legs come in colours such as black or white, and provide a smooth, durable finish that's resistant to scratches and scuffs. They are often used for a contemporary or industrial look.
