Buying Postage Stamps

Whether you’re sending letters or cards to your loved ones, or posting important work documents, you might not know which postage stamp is right for the task at hand. We’ve put together a helpful guide to help you work out which stamps will suit your needs.

Which stamp do I need for next day delivery?

First class items will be delivered the next working day (even on Saturdays). These stamps cost more than second class due to the quicker delivery timescale.

Which stamp do I choose if I'm not in a rush?

Second class items will be delivered within 2-3 working days (even on Saturdays). These stamps cost less than first class due to the slower delivery timescale.

Make sure you check your letter's measurements

 

1st Class Letter

For items up to: 24cm long x 16.5cm wide, 0.5cm thick, 100g

 

1st Class Large Letter

For items up to: 35.3cm long x 25cm wide, 2.5cm thick, 100g

 

2nd Class Letter

For items up to: 24cm long x 16.5cm wide, 0.5cm thick, 100g

 

2nd Class Large Letter 

For items up to: 35.3cm long x 25cm wide, 2.5cm thick, 100g

Which stamps can I buy from Paperstone?

We stock both 1st Class and 2nd Class Stamps, Letter and Large Letter size. These are available in booklets of 50 stamps each with self-adhesive backing.

Can I still use stamps with the late Queen Elizabeth II on?

To minimise any environmental impact, existing stocks of definitive stamps that feature Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth will continue to be distributed and will remain valid for use. Please be aware that the stamps you receive may feature an image of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth, rather than King Charles, depending on stock levels and usage.
