Buying tips
A guide to buying office cupboards

Are you on the hunt for the perfect office cupboard to keep your workspace neat and tidy? Well, you've come to the right place. We've put together a friendly and informative buying guide to help you make the best choice for your office needs.

How much space do I have?

Before you start browsing for office cupboards, take a moment to assess your space. Measure the area where you plan to place your cupboard, taking into consideration any height restrictions, desktop clearances, or spaces between existing office furniture. Be sure to measure the height, width, and depth.

What are the different sizes defined as?
  • Low - 1016mm
  • Medium - Greater than 1016 - 1223mm
  • Medium Tall - Greater than 1223 -1618mm
  • Tall - Greater than 1618mm
What will I be storing in the cupboard?

Are you looking to organise files, stationery, office supplies, or a mix of everything? Understanding your storage needs will help you choose the right size and design.

What cupboard types are there?

There are various types of office cupboards to choose from:

  • Filing cupboards: Ideal for storing files, documents, and folders. Look for ones with adjustable shelves for versatility.
  • Stationery cupboards: Great for storing general office supplies like paper, printer ink, and electronics.
  • Bookcases with cupboards: If you need both open shelving and concealed storage, consider a bookcase with built-in cupboards.
What materials do the cupboards come in?

Consider the durability and material of the cupboard. Common options include:

  • Metal: Durable and often used for industrial or modern office settings.
  • Laminate: Affordable and available in various finishes to match your decor.
What else should I consider?
What is my budget?

Set a budget before you start shopping. Office cupboards come in a wide range of price points, so having a budget in mind will help you narrow down your options.

Are there any special features I’ll be needing?

Look for cupboards with adjustable shelves or compartments to customise your storage space. Some cupboards also come with built-in locks for added security.

Does it matter how the cupboard looks?

Your office cupboard should blend seamlessly with your office decor. Choose a style and finish that complements your existing furniture and enhances the overall aesthetics of your workspace.

Do I need to be able to easily move the cupboard?

If you need flexibility, consider a mobile office cupboard with wheels. This allows you to easily move it around the office or reposition it as needed.

Does the cupboard come with a warranty?

Lastly, check the warranty and customer support offered by the manufacturer. A solid warranty can give you peace of mind in case of any issues down the road.

Ready assembled?

Consider whether you want a pre-assembled cupboard or if you're up for some DIY assembly. Pre-assembled cupboards save you time and effort, while DIY options can be more budget-friendly.

Now that you're armed with these tips, you're ready to find that perfect office cupboard! Happy organising, and here's to a clutter-free and productive workspace.
