Yorkshire firm to hold office product auction

By Paperstone on January 29, 2007 in Office Supplies

A Yorkshire-based acoustics firm is to sell 700 items from its base on the instruction of administrators.

Castle Acoustics is set to sell a number of pieces of manufacturing equipment in a sale to be held this Tuesday.

Other items to be sold include the firm’s vehicles and the office equipment and furniture from its base in Skipton.

Castle Acoustics had reportedly been looking to move to a smaller base elsewhere in the north but had failed in its bid to sell its current location to property developers.

It has now been forced to sell off its assets and has reportedly been taken over by an unnamed buyer, thought to be an independent trader who will continue to operate locally.

However, staff have been made redundant and Castle Acoustics has confirmed that no more manufacturing will take place at its Skipton location, where it had been based since 1973.

Buyers looking to snaffle up a bargain from the sale of the firm’s assets have been able to have a sneak peak today and will also be able to spend two hours prior to the sale checking out the products up for grabs.

At Paperstone, you can pick up a bargain when you buy your own office equipment.
