Paphitis’ ‘Buying Game’
Stationery magnate-celebrity and star of Dragon’s Den is to front a new 7 x 60-minute series for BBC Two called The Buying Game in which buyers from large scale UK retailers take a gamble on products pitched to them by the public – and then show how they are brought to the consumer. The show will provide behind-the-scenes insights of the retail chains featured and follow the products’ development from prototype to finished article on the shop floor.
Controller of BBC Two, Janice Hadlow, said, “It’s going to be fascinating to see Theo’s extraordinary understanding of the market and astute business acumen at work outside of the Den, combined with a great insight into a rarely glimpsed side of the retail industry.”
