British office workers no longer out to lunch
The British office worker is forgoing their lunch break and instead choosing to eat at their desks or “graze” throughout the day, according to a report by Eurest Services, the office catering firm. The firm runs restaurants in about 80 per cent of FTSE 100 companies, so it has a good handle on workers’ eating habits.
The average lunch break is now 29 minutes long and the number of lunch breaks actually taken has also fallen. However, the report finds that the volume of food hasn’t changed in recent years, just the way we eat it.
