Office supplies ‘transformed into art’

A current art exhibition in Norwich is made up of recycled office supplies transformed into unusual displays.

Entitled The Art of Recycling, the show attempts to demonstrate how unwanted office supplies and office equipment can still be utilised – albeit in an unusual and creative way, the Norwich Evening News reports.

The exhibition is currently being displayed at Norwich Union’s Marble Hall and will run until November 30th.

A local office supplies company donated the materials for the art after holding an office supplies amnesty which brought together 28 vans’ worth of unneeded stationary from businesses in the area.

Then, some of the Paper-based office supplies such as envelopes were recycled and the remaining office equipment was used by students at the Royal College of Art.

Prizes were awarded for those art pieces which were judged to be the best use of the unwanted office products. They will also be auctioned.

Gabbi Hillier, who came up with the idea, told the news provider that the project is environmentally-friendly and will also raise money for a good cause.

"These fantastic pieces will be bought by companies and individuals to be enjoyed for many years to come – an exciting conclusion to a massive spring clean," she said.

Many companies have recently begun to explore possibilities for recycling their office equipment, as green initiatives gain popularity in the UK.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office supplies.
