Office furniture firm offer Carpal Tunnel advice

By Paperstone on July 2, 2007 in Office Furniture

An office furniture supplier has come up with some advice on the debilitating Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, an injury that continually strikes office staff.

H and L Office Furniture revealed that Carpal Tunnel often hits office workers because of they spend so much time with their wrists in a bended position.

Carpal Tunnel is damage done to the median nerve running down the arm into the hand, whereby prolonged pressure cuts off the nerve’s ability to send messages through a tunnel of bone and ligaments in the wrist.

Sufferers are likely to begin feeling numb in one or both hands, before the pain becomes more intense.

"The best way to treat Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is never to get it," the office furniture specialist revealed.

"There are some simple preventative measures to avoid the injury. The main cause of Carpal Tunnel is bad posture at the office desk. You should always sit up straight in an ergonomic chair."

The office furniture expert also urges office workers to consider investing in a wrist rest or wrist brace.

"Carpal Tunnel Syndrome can bring a painful stop to your ability to get the job done at your office desk, but preventing it is not hard and just takes a little forethought and preparation of your workspace," the H and L Office Furniture spokesperson concluded.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office furniture.
