Office furniture factory to create jobs

By Paperstone on February 28, 2007 in Office Furniture

A former office furniture outlet is to be used to create hundreds of jobs in Suffolk, it has been revealed.

Property investment company Mission Capital has struck a deal with CBRE Investors to buy four plots of land for a total of £36 million.

Included in the four is a 6.5 acre empty Workspace Office Furniture site in Haverhill, which locals are now hoping will be turned into a leisure complex that would provide jobs in the area.

Neil Sinclair, chairman of Mission Capital, has said that a leisure complex would be considered as it is close to the newly built cinema, but added that no affirmative decision had been made on the future of the former office furniture outlet.

"We are just looking at the options at the moment. We are looking at the condition of the buildings and tidying to see if we can relet it," Mr Sinclair told the Cambridge Evening News.

"It has consent for industrial and warehouse use, but quite a few leisure uses are being proposed in the area, so we might well look at some kind of leisure development there."

It has been reported to straw poll of local residents discovered that an ice rink would be the preferred use for the site, as currently the closest comparable facilities are in Peterborough and Chelmsford.

At Paperstone, we offer a wide selection of office furniture for your delectation.
