Back to the office: lessons learned

By Paperstone on September 9, 2020 in Uncategorized

A few of the team have been working at Paperstone HQ over the last month. Some have been in daily and some are popping in for meetings or odd days. It’s our new hybrid and flexible approach to work and is probably here to stay.

We’ve gathered a few tips from this time we thought might be useful to other businesses planning a return to the office.

  1. Give people space. Not everyone may feel the same about COVID as you.
  2. What are you wearing? Pyjamas aren’t the best attire now you’re back in public!
  3. Face masks to hand. If you’re popping out to grab a sandwich have a stash of face masks by the door.
  4. Keep sanitiser topped up. To encourage regular use sanitiser or hand soap must be readily available by all touchpoints.
  5. Appoint an anti-bac agent. We’ve given Matt the responsibility of wiping surfaces and handles regularly throughout the day.
  6. Pop some music on. Liven the atmosphere with your favourite tunes – being socially distant at work sometimes feels lonely.
  7. Keep hand moisturiser on your desk. All the hand washing is starting to take its toll.
  8. In a tight spot? We’ve used floor tape to make it clear where to walk/stand with a 1m+ exclusion zone around desks.
  9. Take your time. If you don’t need to, don’t rush back in or back to meetings or anywhere if you don’t have to.
  10. Enjoy catching up. After so long not being face to face take time to check in with your workmates.

We’d love to hear how your return to the office is going? Have you started? Are you planning to? Email us at hello@paperstone.co.uk to tell us more.
