Up Tight at Work?

Up Tight at Work

Women are being urged not to be ‘uptight’ and worried about wearing pantyhose for work.

American etiquette guru, Emily Post, says tights and stockings can be left at home.

“Bare legs with a knee-length skirt is 21st century work appropriate”, says the legendary Emily.

Emily Post has been revered for her advice on modern manners since the 1960s, but not everyone agrees with her advice on tights and stockings.

Some HR experts say it depends on each company’s specific work culture.

And it might be a bit risky to go bare-legged to a job interview.

“Err on the side of caution, especially in an interview. If you simply hate wearing pantyhose, wear trousers instead of a skirt or dress”, advised one expert.

The debate doesn’t end there though. Apparently, the colour and style of tights worn to work is pretty important too. The best colour to wear is nude, followed by black.
