Unhappy Birthday
A majority of Irish employers don’t acknowledge their workers’ birthdays, according to a recent poll of Irish respondents commissioned by office supplies retaler Viking. In sad contrast, almost four in five office workers said they would appreciate their birthday being celebrated in the workplace.
Despite the lack of attention from their bosses, more than half of office workers’ birthday celebrations are paid for by colleagues chipping in together. Tragically, one in ten employers brings their own birthday cake to the office.
