Google Zeitgeist 2012

Google recently released its Zeitgeist lists for 2012 which details the fastest growing search terns throughout the year.

Globally, the fastest growing search term was ‘Whitney Houston’ in relation to the singer who was found dead earlier this year, followed by the ultra-viral ‘Gangnam Style’.

Both these terms featured in the UK-only fastest growing search terms, but ‘Euro 2012’ topped the list. More UK-specific search terms included ‘Olympic tickets’, ‘April Jones’ (the Welsh schoolgirl who went missing in October) and ‘Gary Barlow’. ‘Kate Middleton’ was the sixth fastest growing term globally.
