How did the 1971 executive, displaced somewhat by computers, do to fill his work hours? He [Sic – “she” executives were rare at this point in history] played with his executive toys, of course.

This gently satirical Tomorrow’s World piece showcases some of the executive toys on offer in the early ’70s, including the ‘Newton’s cradle’ which was first sold by Harrods of London around 1970, thus paving the way for a market for such desktop frivolia.
