By Paperstone on December 23, 2009 in Office Workers

Post-office party hangovers and beer injuries could cost UK businesses as much as £216 million, according to insurance firm Aviva. Drinking at the Xmas work bash has caused 2.31 million UK workers to call in sick the morning after. Their Morning After report also found that 31 percent of accidents caused by boozing resulted in hospital treatment, the most common alcohol mishaps being falling over dancing, slipping on spilt drinks, falling off stages or passing out.

The report also found that men were 88 percent more likely to call in sick than women the day after the office party.
