Konica Minolta expands UK office products business

A major office machines manufacturer has announced its intention to increase its UK-based operations by acquiring a British company.

Konica Minolta – which is a major player in the office machines and camera sectors – has secured a deal to buy out Ideal Reprographics, which is based in Basildon, Essex.

The deal will mean that the two companies – which have been working closely for a number of years – will merge and work together on a number of office equipment projects in the future.

Yuki Kobayashi, managing director of Konica Minolta UK, said: "This acquisition will facilitate and support the continued growth of Ideal, and at the same time contribute to Konica Minolta’s drive towards its strategic market goals in the UK – this acquisition being clear evidence of our commitment to achieving these".

Earlier this month, Konica Minolta and Oce – a Dutch manufacturer – agreed that they will work together on a number of projects and will market their office machines using the same agency and techniques.

Officially signed on April 4th, the deal will cover office machines and office products manufactured by the two companies. No jobs will be lost at either firm.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office machines.
