Copier specialist Xerox has announced the launch of 15 new printers, as it bids to conquer the office and print-shop market.

The new line-up of products is part of a £460 million investment and has seen the company release as many printers in the opening months of 2007 as it did in the whole of last year.

Xerox has launched Nuvera digital systems for high volume printing, while smaller machines for office use have been brought in to compete with Hewlett-Packard.

A WorkCentre range for small and large businesses has been released and a new line of multifunction DocuColor machines have been unveiled.

Quincy Allen, president of Xerox Production Systems Group, said of the DocuColor 260 model: "The DocuColor 260 is an ideal entry point for printers looking to capture growth in the lucrative colour printing business, combining high image quality with an economical cost.

"Our industry-leading high-end colour line, with options ranging from 40 to 110 pages per minute, gives customers the production flexibility they need at a broad range of price points, regardless of their print volume."

The copier giant has also promoted Ursula M Burns from head of business group operations to company president.
