New printing technology from Ricoh
Print giant Ricoh has launched its new GelSprinter technology printers, which could bridge the gap between workgroup lasers and inkjet printers.
The GelSprinter technology uses pigment-based gel rather than viscous ink and performs at laser speeds, producing 29 pages per minute in colour and mono.
Ricoh’s basic GX 3000 model costs around £150, which is cheap for any office looking for a cost-effective but speedy solution to its printing needs.
The company’s website described the new model, stating: "A new and clever concept for colour printing has arrived.
"Ricoh’s new GelSprinter devices deliver the ultimate solution for fast and profitable colour! The Aficio GX 3000 provides your office with amazing quality prints and high productivity, all thanks to the revolutionary GelSprinter technology!"
Ricoh, which is a Japanese firm, recently revealed operating profits were up for the fiscal year ending March 31st.
The company specialises in office equipment, such as printers, copiers and fax equipment, as well as digital cameras.
Net profit was up by 15 per cent compared to last year, while operating profit soared by 17.4 per cent, as the company enjoyed strong sales throughout its three main market segments.
