Monochrome printing popular among office equipment users

By Paperstone on November 9, 2007 in Office Supplies

Many people opt for black and white printing from their office machines despite the availability of colour printing, it has emerged.

Research by office equipment manufacturer Lexmark revealed that the use of black printer cartridges is popular among health care professionals looking to print copy as quickly as possible.

The study was targeted at healthcare business services across the US, UK, France and Italy.

Documents most commonly printed from office equipment were found to be text documents, followed by forms and records, short reports and invoices and purchase orders.

Lexmark revealed a primary demand among healthcare professionals was the acquisition of printing technology that could provide both time-saving and efficient Paperwork management

Monochrome laser printers or multifunction products (MFPs) were most commonly used for monochrome printing, the office machines supplier noted.

Lexmark vice president Marty Cnning commented on the benefits of MFP technology, which is designed to save time on print, copy, scan and fax-based activities.

"The goal with MFP technology is to help heath care professionals spend less time with Paper and more time with patients," the office supplies expert added.

Office equipment firm Lexmark is headquartered in Kentucky in the US.
