Hewlett-Packard (HP), one of the world’s leading printer supplies companies, is celebrating the fact it has retaken the number one spot in the Top 500 Supercomputer rankings.

HP prides itself on being a market leader in printer supplies, inkjet cartridges and other IT offerings and now it can once again say it ranks as the world’s leading provider of supercomputers.

The list catalogues world’s most powerful installed technical and commercial computer systems.

In fact, HP revealed it had 203 supercomputers listed in the Top 500, meaning its entries made up 40 per cent of the total amount – more than any other rival vendor.

Winston Prather, vice president and general manager, high performance computing, HP said: "To lead in both market share and the Top 500 list underscores how HP is driving high-performance computing mainstream while advancing innovation at the top."

HP is currently the world’s largest IT corporation and its printer supplies and inkjet cartridges sales contributed to revenue of almost $100 million (£50 million) last year alone.

The printer supplies firm is based in Palo Alto, California and was founded by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard back in 1939.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of printer supplies.
