HP plans growth around printer services

Office machines company HP has said that it plans to grow its business around services relating to printers and printer supplies.

As a manufacturer of office equipment, HP has seen considerable money earned from its imaging and printing unit.

However, the firm has recently found that sales of printer cartridges – which brought in much of the revenue – is slowing. Sales of printer cartridges grew by eight per cent during the last quarter.

With the intention of boosting its presence in the printing market, HP is launching "Print 2.0", which it first announced in May.

The strategy is centred around three areas – a next-generation digital printing platform which can boost print speeds and lower costs, facilitating web-based printing and expanding digital content creation.

"With Print 2.0, we’re leveraging the power of the web as a gateway for our customers to communicate, collaborate and publish their content in ways they could not before," said Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president of the imaging and printing group at HP.

Products manufactured by HP include PCs, printers, printer cartridges, scanners, copiers and Paper – among others.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of printer cartridges.
