Companies ‘demand greener office supplies’

By Paperstone on August 20, 2007 in Office Supplies

Businesses have been requesting office supplies which are more ecologically friendly, as awareness has grown over the topic, it has been suggested.

John Graham, a spokesperson for Flash Drive Direct, believes that such changing attitudes have prompted consumers to seek out energy-efficient office products.

"Companies are demanding more environmental awareness in their corporate culture. When purchasing either promotional products or office supplies they are demanding more eco-friendly products," he explained.

He said that a new advance in technology has given his company’s flash drives an increased energy savings of as much as 231 per cent over original equipment manufacturer drives.

Mr Graham added that flash drives can be reused several times for data storage, compared to CDs, which are office products that can only be used once and then are thrown away.

This attribute contributes to flash drives’ standing as eco-friendly office supplies, he remarked.

Mr Graham’s business is not the only one which has been pushing green values in the workplace.

Recently, document management company Version One suggested that recycling office machines, office equipment and office furniture could provide valuable CO2 savings, as well as helping firms build their credibility with customers.

At Paperstone we can supply your firm with a wide selection of office supplies.
