Bubble wrap that it's finally ok to play with

Office supplies Most people who have ever given or received a valuable item will know how important bubble wrap can be in keeping the goods intact.

Yet those people will also know how infectious an activity playing with the protective plastic coating can be, incessantly popping all the small bubbles until they're completely squashed.

That is why Bandai has moved to launch its new innovative product, an electronic bubble wrap toy.

The Japanese toy making specialists have unveiled the new product, which is similar to a small keychain and fits neatly between the fingers of either a child or adult.

Eight round bubbles recreate the tactile bubble wrap feel, as well as the highly satisfying popping sound.

Bandai is the world's third largest producer of toys and is therefore not so well known for its bubble wrap.

However, if the mini bubble wrap units prove anywhere near as popular as the real thing, they are sure to maintain Bandai's position as one of the world's major toymakers.

Bubble wrap was created by accident by Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes in 1957 and is now one of the most established office supplies on the market.
