Higher profits for office furniture manufacturer

The world's biggest office furniture manufacturer, Steelcase, has reported higher profits for the second quarter of 2007.
Earnings increased by 42 per cent to reach $37.7 million (£18.7 million), or 26 cents per share. One year earlier, they were $26.6 million, or 18 cents per share.
Recently, the office furniture company announced that it had extended its UK partnership with Green-Works.
Green-Works is a not-for-profit organisation which provides unneeded office furniture to be used by schools, charities and community groups.
Additionally, the group works to create job opportunities for those who are disadvantaged or face long-term unemployment.
Mark Spragg, managing director of Steelcase UK, said that the partnership helped reinforce the office furniture firm's environmental commitment.
"Green-Works provides a fantastic service which allows organisations to deal with their old office furniture in a socially and environmentally responsible way," he remarked.
"We will continue to promote this service to customers all across the UK through our network of dealers, our sales staff and the rest of the Steelcase team."
