Decorating your office for seasonal holidays is a fantastic way to boost morale, get creative, and make a festive atmosphere. We spend a lot of time in the office, so why not make it a fun place to be?

Whether you’re celebrating Halloween, Christmas, or the beauty of Autumn, you can easily decorate your office without damaging the walls (especially important if you rent your workspace).

Here are some ideas for decorating your office for different holidays and seasons using easy, non-damaging products and other office-friendly supplies.

Autumn months: Cosy and comforting

Decorating tips

Autumnal garlands: Use Command Hooks to hang garlands made from faux autumn leaves. These look great draped across doorways, windows, or along walls.

Pumpkin decorations: Place mini pumpkins on desks, in communal areas, or around the office entrance. Opt for faux pumpkins that can be reused year after year. You can use Blu-Tack to secure them on shelves or tables without leaving marks. Hobbycraft have some great pumpkin decorations.

Cosy corners with lanterns: Create a “cosy corner” in the office breakroom or reception with lanterns or battery-operated candles. By using Command Hooks, or simply placing them on desks and side tables, you can add a warm glow to the office.

Autumn wreath decoration

Autumn wreaths: Hang a decorative autumn wreath on the office door using a removable Command Hook. Choose wreaths with warm colours like deep oranges, browns, and reds to capture the essence of the season.

Pro tip: If you hang a hook upside down on the inside of the door, you can drape a ribbon or rope over to attach your wreath with no visible hook to visitors.

Autumnal table displays: Set up small seasonal displays on communal tables or reception areas. Think dried flowers, pine cones, and fairy lights. Use wire clips to keep the lights in place without leaving residue.

Halloween: Embrace the spooky spirit

Decorating tips

Removable window stickers: Add a spooky touch to your office windows with Halloween-themed window stickers. These are easy to apply, remove, and can be reused year after year.

Halloween fairy lights: For added atmosphere, hang Halloween themed fairy lights along windows or shelves in your office using Command Hooks or clips to add to the spooky feel.

Hanging décor: Use Command Hooks to drape fake cobwebs or spooky decorations from the ceiling or along walls. At Paperstone, we leave our Command hooks up on the ceiling all year round. This means that come the next decorating opportunity, we save time as we don’t need to re-hang the hooks.

Small decorations: Stick small paper bats, spiders, or other Halloween cut-outs to your walls, windows, and desks with Blu-Tack or Scotch Tape. It’s easy to use and won’t damage surfaces when removed. We love the white tac as it’s super clean.

Pumpkins and battery-operated candles: Place small pumpkins or battery-operated candles on desks and in communal areas. It provides an eerie glow without the fire hazard.

Pro Tip: Create a Halloween-themed photo corner with a spooky backdrop using Command Strips to hang it up. Add props like witch hats, vampire fangs, and masks for some fun office selfies.

Christmas: Bring the festive cheer

Decorating tips

Mini Christmas trees (or a festive ornament of your choice): You can start by placing mini Christmas trees, or whatever you prefer, on desks or in communal areas. We have little wooden Christmas trees that we place on everyone’s desk, as well as on meeting/breakout desks during the festive season.

Fairy lights with Command light hooks: Drape fairy lights around your office using Command Light Hooks. These mini hooks are designed to hold lights without damaging your walls or furniture.

Wreaths and garlands: Hang wreaths or garlands on doors and walls with Command hooks. We have a large Command hook that lives on our office door, and each year we hang our beautiful colour-themed wreath from it.

Christmas stockings: Consider hanging small stockings on each employee’s desk using removable hooks or Scotch Tape. Fill them with small treats or notes for a festive surprise.

Colour themed festive décor: If your company has a particular colour scheme, why not decorate your tree using these colours? Our company logo is made up of mostly hot pink and white, so our whole office is decorated using these colours.

Pro Tip: If your office space allows, set up a “Christmas Corner” with a larger tree. Here your team can contribute an ornament or decoration. It’s a wonderful way to build team spirit. In our office we also use the big tree as a place to store all our Secret Santa gifts until the big day of opening. And of course, we warp our gifts using trusty Scotch Tape.

Spring & Easter: Bright and fresh décor

Decorating tips

Floral arrangements: Brighten up the office with fresh or artificial flowers in pastel colours. Place them on desks, in meeting rooms, or in the reception area.

Easter Egg garland: You can also create a colourful Easter egg garland using lightweight plastic eggs and hang it around the office with Command Hooks.

Bunny cut-outs: Stick paper or felt bunny cut-outs to walls or windows with double-sided tape that won’t damage the paint or leave residue.

Pastel streamers: Add a burst of colour with pastel streamers. Hang them from the ceiling or across doorways with removable tape.

Pro Tip: Set up a small table with Easter baskets filled with chocolate eggs or small goodies. By doing this, your team can grab a treat as they pass by, adding a sweet touch to their day.
