Have you ever thought of keeping an art journal?

An art journal is a really cool way to express thoughts and feelings and document important occasions in your life.

Each entry in your journal is a combination of words and artwork- but the style you use is entirely up to you. You can use beautiful coloured markers, traditional pen and ink, pencils or pastels, and watercolour or acrylic paint, to create the effect you want.

You can write immaculately with a calligraphy pen, or scribble freely with a Sharpie.

Write poetry or prose. Be happy or sad. Thoughtful or crazy.

Create a collage with fabric or patterned papers and all sorts of odds and ends. Stick photos in your journal, or train tickets to remind you of a special day out.

Ordinary office supplies come in handy too. Post it notes, paper clips, staples and sticky tape can all be incorporated into your journal.

It doesn’t matter if you’re not Picasso or Tracey Emin. Creating stuff helps you feel better and de-stresses your mind.

Why not buy a nice blank journal and start a creative project today?
