Is your office supporting Jeans for Genes day on Friday, September 20?

Jeans for Genes Day raises money for Genetic Disorders UK, and aims to change the world for children with genetic disorders.

These medical conditions are caused by an alteration in DNA. Sometimes a gene or several genes are missing, repeated or in the wrong order. Sadly, these alterations can affect a child’s senses, mobility, ability to learn or even his or her appearance.

Genetic disorders affect 1 in 25 children born in the UK – that’s more than 30,000 babies each year. These disorders are the biggest cause of death for children aged 14 years and under.

It’s easy to participate in Jeans for Genes Day. Just ask people to come to work in their jeans and make a donation of £2.  It’s a great way to bring a team, a floor or the whole company together.

The fun doesn’t have to end at 5.30pm either- you can make a night of it with a pub quiz or karaoke contest. So start the weekend early with Jean for Genes Day!
