CCTV Madness: Policeman Chases Self

A junior police office gave chase to a suspect who turned out to be himself last month, The Telegraph reports .

A CCTV operator alerted the probationary officer from Sussex Police that someone was “acting suspiciously” in the area, without realising the suspicious suspect was in fact the plain clothed police officer himself.

As he followed the “suspect” on camera, the operator encouraged his colleague on the ground, telling him that he was “hot on his heals.”

The pursuit lasted about 20 minutes before a sergeant recognised the mix-up and the operator room erupted into mirth.
