Chicken Glasses – Roll the VT

By Paperstone on December 14, 2011 in Workwear

For some reason, a news story we did on chicken glasses last May has been one of our most popular pages in the last few weeks. In the spirit of this mania for fowl eyewear, here are a couple of apposite videos.

The first one is a 1947 newsreel about the use of chicken glasses on a farm to stop the beasts from pecking each other to death. (Chickens have a habit of attacking others who are bledding a bit. These glasses stopped them from “seeing red” when a chicken got a nick).

The second is a 1955 epison of What’s My Line in which the guest is a charismatic individual who sells eyeglasses for chickens.
