The Monday Image Strain

By Paperstone on June 27, 2010 in Office Workers

make upBritish women take four times as long to get ready for work on Mondays as they do on Fridays, according to research commissioned by Debenhams. As the week progresses, girls take less time readying themselves for work each day. The survey of 1,000 Debenhams customers also found that men spend more time on Mondays than on following days.

On average, women spend 76 minutes getting ready on Mondays, falling to 40 minutes on Tuesdays and hitting a low of 19 minutes on Fridays. The corresponding figures for men are 28, 14 and 11. A third of female preparation time on Mondays is spent on hair, 18 minutes on make-up, 16 trying on clothes, and the rest washing.
