By Paperstone on January 25, 2010 in Envelopes

A Royal Mail manager has been jailed for six month for stealing cash from children’s birthday cards. David Baker, 47, targeted colourful envelopes he thought would contain money being sent to children. After removing coins and notes, he would then throw the cards into the bin.

Baker, who worked for Royal Mail for 23 years, is thought to have stolen tens thousands of pounds over his career. His arrest followed a three-year investigation by the post office.
