B of E Reports Drop in Household Income
Bank of England figures have revealed the recession’s toll on UK consumers. Nearly a third of workers have seen their household income drop by at least £1,200 a year.
According to the Bank’s Quarterly Bulletin, some 30 percent of manual workers and 27 percent of office workers said that their monthly disposable income — money left after paying tax, housing costs, utility bills and loan payments — had fallen by £100 or more over the past year.
