HP unveils new office equipment customer service investment
One of the world’s major manufacturers of office machines and office equipment has announced the most substantial investment in consumer technical support in its history.
The aim of the investment by HP is to make the office equipment of consumers around the world work faster and more effective.
A new customer support infrastructure – including call centres in 132 countries and 31 languages – is to be rolled out across the world during 2008, along with a new training scheme for customer service employees, in a bid to increase the effectiveness of calls about office products.
Tara Bunch, vice president of consumer customer operations at HP, said: "Customers expect and deserve outstanding support and HP‘s goal is to be the industry leader in delivering it.
"This is the first of many improvements from HP that you will hear of in the coming months."
Late last month, HP celebrated the 20th anniversary of one of its most influential office products ever.
The HP Deskjet range of office products revolutionised the office machines industry and was the first range to sell over ten million products around the world.
