New software for office equipment users introduced

A new printing tool has been unveiled by office products supplier by Software Shelf International (SSI).

The office equipment serves as an add-on to its Print Manager Plus product and operates as an extension to Windows, enabling 100 per cent web-based print management, the company said.

Print Manager Plus Release Station 2008 integrates credit card and PayPal tools to office products and is intended to benefit organisations that use central networked printing, such as libraries, schools or internet cafes, SSI noted.

The printer supplies company also claims that the product will help save office equipment users money on the cost of printer cartridges.

SSI product manager Danny Byrnes said the Printer Release Station add-on has been popular with existing Print Manager Plus users.

“The schools and libraries, worldwide that participated all reported a significant reduction in costs as a result,” he added.

Hewlett-Packard’s Catch the Wave – Outstanding Product of the Year award was recently received by SSI in Atlanta, Georgia for its Print Manager Plus product.

Mr Byrnes commented that the award recognised the office equipment supplier’s efforts to develop a tool that can control an organisation’s printing to help reduce costs.
