HP, a manufacturer of printer cartridges, has announced a new promotion.

Students and teachers in the US who register with the firm can now purchase a number of products for less money than before.

According to HP, there are a variety of printer products – complete with printer cartridges – available for anyone turning their attentions to the autumn term.

"Back-to-school shopping has moved way beyond Pee-Chee folders and No 2 pencils," said Mark Sanchez, vice president of North America consumer computing business Personal Systems Group, HP.

"Whether for research and reports or music, movies, photos and games, students want high-performance technology devices that make it easier to manage and enjoy both their academic and personal lives."

HP lists a number of its products which may be ideal for university rooms or small offices. The HP Deskjet D2460 Printer, for example, comes with printer cartridges that have HP smart web printing.

Multi-taskers are also advised that the printer cartridges used for the HP Photosmart C5280 All-in-One Printer help the printer produce laser-quality document printing.

HP was recently involved in a patent infringement lawsuit against German-based InkTec GmbH Zentrale and PCE Group regarding the ink used in the refilling of some of its printer cartridges.
