New office products 'help firms cut costs'

One of the largest office equipment manufacturers in the world has unveiled a new campaign to help UK businesses become more efficient and reduce printing costs.
Canon's UK division has launched three new office machines designed to improve efficiency within large companies and make it easier to become more environmentally-friendly.
The new iR3180C/Ci, iR5880C/Ci and iR6880C/Ci multi-function office products primarily print in black-and-white but are also fully functioning colour office machines.
Canon's smart colour capabilities of the new range of office products ensure that potentially expensive colour printing is controlled within organisations, which are still able to benefit from colour when required.
The more expensive iR5880C/Ci prints at 58 pages per minute, while the cheaper iR3180C/Ci produces 31 pages per minute in black-and-white or seven each minute in colour.
Tracey Fielden, head of office marketing at Canon UK, said: "The new year is always a time for evaluating business strategy and costs and with economic uncertainty on the horizon, any ways of reducing costs in 2008 will be welcomed.
"For businesses that work predominantly in black-and-white, but need to print in colour now and again, a colour printer is not necessarily a cost-effective option."
Last month, Canon UK appointed Matthew Searle as director of the Canon Partner Channel.
