HP secures gold eco award for office equipment

One of the world's largest manufacturers of office equipment has been awarded the highest environmental rating for its ranges of office products by a leading body.
HP has received the gold listing in the Electronic Products Environmental Assessment Tool in the US, in recognition for the amount of recycled plastic - as well as other materials - used in its office products.
The workstations produced by HP were given special praise by the company, which lauded the energy-efficiency and recycle-friendly designs of the office products.
John Thompson, vice-president and general manager at HP, said: "Our new generation of HP workstations was designed from the inside out with the environment in mind.
"Customers will find these workstations not only to be the most innovative performance machines for the most demanding of applications, but also the best choice for the environmentally conscious professional."
Last month, HP scooped four prestigious prizes at a major awards ceremony.
The subscribers to Wide-Format Imaging lauded HP in a number of categories, including heaping praise on the HP Designjet H35000/H45000, which was honoured with the best Wide-Format UV Printer award.
