HP inkjet cartridges prove more reliable

Printer supplies Hewlett-Packard (HP) has been a leading brand name in the printer supplies field for many years and a recent study by QualityLogic has revealed that it continues to offer great reliability with its range of inkjet cartridges.

The research, commissioned by printer supplies giant HP and conducted by QualityLogic in its test labs, compared the yield and reliability of original HP inkjet cartridges to refilled ink cartridges.

On average, the results showed that original HP inkjet cartridges produced 57.5 per cent more pages than the refill brands tested, when looking at the total number of pages printed.

Compared to the cartridges that QualityLogic had refilled at refill stations, HP inkjet cartridges printed double the amount of pages the refill brands managed.

In the reliability test, one out of five of all refilled cartridges failed and one in four cartridges refilled at shops or stations failed, with failed cartridges determined by whether or not they were dead on arrival or prematurely failed during testing.

Dave Jollota, QualityLogic's chief operating officer, said: "This QualityLogic study reveals significant differences in yield and reliability between original HP inkjet cartridges and refilled brands.

"The QualityLogic team conducted extensive testing of 13 commonly available refill brands and meticulously analysed and compiled results using more than 800 ink cartridges."
