Canon focused on recycling

With the emphasis placed very much on eco issues in the UK at present, printer supplies manufacturer Canon continues to lead the pack with its ink-jet cartridges recycling scheme and has rolled out the scheme as far away as India.
Alok Bharadwaj, vice-president of Canon India, explained to Express Computer that the country's large firms owe a debt to society which is the why the company is dedicated to offering recycling services.
Speaking about corporate social responsibility, Mr Bharadwaj, stated: "At Canon, we have followed green procurement norms, which is the practice of purchasing environmentally conscious parts and materials that make Canon’s products friendly to the environment."
A corporate philosophy of Kyosei has been adopted by the printer supplies manufacturer which translates as representing equality and this is evident in Canon's commitment to the environment when it comes to disposing of ink-jet cartridges.
Back in 1990, Canon sought to address the burdens placed on the environment by used ink-jet cartridges and ever since has displayed willing to recycle as much as possible and encourage the consumer to do likewise.
According to Canon, "actions speak louder than words" in terms of recycling which is why the company decided to launch collection trials whereby staff at Canon would pick up used ink-jet cartridges or otherwise and have them recycled.
