Boxes to make recycling easier in Chelsea

Offices in west London are to get special boxes to help them implement effective workplace recycling schemes.
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is hoping that it can increase recycling rates in the area by providing offices with a simple box that they can put recyclable office supplies into.
The Office Recycling Box is designed to work alongside the local council's orange recycling sacks, which provide a simple method for paper, cardboard and other waste office supplies to be recycled.
Andrew Round, revenue and sales liaison officer at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, has claimed that the scheme came about due to requests from businesses to simplify the recycling process.
Many already had bins outside of their office that they could place recyclable office supplies into, but some complained that employees were confused as to what could and could not be recycled at their desks.
This led to contamination and non-recyclable products getting mixed in with the office supplies that can be transformed into reusable products.
According to Mr Round, the new boxes should put an end to this, with the brightly coloured orange sacks, designed for commingled dry recyclable items, fitting into the boxes which are clearly marked with guidelines on what can and can't be recycled.
