Office products firm scoops prestigious design gong

A major producer of office machines has scooped a prestigious award for one of its digital cameras at a recent ceremony.

Ricoh - usually famed for a range of office products - won the iF gold design award for its Caplio GX100 digital camera at the CeBit exhibition in Hannover, Germany.

A panel of industry experts selected the winner of one of the oldest awards in the design industry, given to the most innovative and practical designs in technology.

Peter van der Kaag, director of corporate communications at Ricoh, said: "Ricoh is known for its innovative digital technology in its cameras, printers and copiers. We are also dedicated to producing products that are designed to optimise performance and are easy to use.

"It is an honour to be formally recognised for our commitment by such a prestigious panel of international design experts."

Last month, Ricoh launched two new office products designed to help out mid to large-sized companies.

The new Aficio MP 4000 and MP 5000 from Ricoh can print up to 50 pages per minute and are more environmentally-friendly than many other office products made by the manufacturer.
