Let\u2019s be honest – when you hear “health and safety in the workplace,” your first instinct might be to yawn. But trust us, it\u2019s actually a big deal (and kind of cool when you think about it). At Paperstone, we don\u2019t just follow the rules – we make safety part of our everyday culture. We keep our office safe by making sure our team is First Aid trained. Yep, a few of us (left to right: Hayley, Tim, Kelly) <\/em>are fully equipped to handle anything from minor scrapes to more serious situations (though, fingers crossed, we never need to put our skills to the test!).<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve got people who know what to do, whether it\u2019s a paper cut crisis or something a little more urgent. Loch & Associates, our lovely downstairs neighbours, provided the training for our team. Another part of being first aid trained is having a fully stocked first aid kit<\/a> that\u2019s accessible and clearly marked. Making sure all the components<\/a> are within their use-by date is also very important. And we have an accident report book<\/a> on hand to record all those workplace injuries, minor or major.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The right safety gear when out and about<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Of course, staying safe isn\u2019t just about knowing what to do in an emergency. It\u2019s also about wearing the right workwear to prevent accidents in the first place. According to the Labour Force survey<\/a> conducted in 2023\/2024, 604,000 workers sustained a non-fatal workplace injury.
