Even in this digital age, paper is an essential part of our lives. At home and at work, we use paper for writing on, drawing on, and for wrapping things up.<\/p>\n

We use paper every day but we don\u2019t spend much time thinking about where it comes from- we just take our notepads, post-its and envelopes for granted.<\/p>\n

National Tree Week (November 29- December 7) is a chance to think about trees, and your local treescape. It is Britain\u2019s largest tree celebration, marking the start of the winter tree planting season.<\/p>\n

Up to 200 schools and community groups will be taking part in organised events, involving a staggering 8,000 tree wardens.<\/p>\n

Tree Wardens are volunteers, appointed by parish councils or other community organisations to gather information about their local trees. These volunteers also get involved in local tree matters and encourage practical projects related to trees and woods.<\/p>\n

During National Tree Week there will be many fun-filled, worthwhile and accessible events taking place in Britain. More than a quarter of a million people will be getting their hands dirty and planting around a million trees.<\/p>\n
