When you\u2019re next having a cup of tea or coffee in the office, check the label and see if it\u2019s a Fairtrade product<\/a>.<\/p>\n Fairtrade Fortnight is coming up – and businesses are being asked to think about how they can support workers in developing countries by using, selling or promoting Fairtrade products.<\/p>\n Millions of farmers and workers who produce much of the imported food we eat don\u2019t earn enough to know where their next meal is coming from. But smallholder farmers who are part of Fairtrade earn around a third more than they did before, which means they can now afford more of the important things, like food, medical bills or sending their children to school.<\/p>\n So by using or selling Fairtrade products your business\u00a0can be\u00a0part of the solution to food insecurity.<\/p>\n During Fairtrade Fortnight (February 29 to March 13) your company or organisation can get involved. Even if you don\u2019t sell directly to the public you can make a small change by buying Fairtrade coffee for the office, or tweeting in support of the 2016 campaign #YouEatTheyEat<\/p>\n You could hold a Fairtrade breakfast, using Fairtrade foods, and maybe sell some other Fairtrade products.
