Jeans for Genes Day raises money for Genetic Disorders UK, and aims to change the world for children with genetic disorders.<\/p>\n
These medical conditions are caused by an alteration in DNA. Sometimes a gene or several genes are missing, repeated or in the wrong order. Sadly, these alterations can affect a child’s senses, mobility, ability to learn or even his or her appearance.<\/p>\n
Genetic disorders affect 1 in 25 children born in the UK – that’s more than 30,000 babies each year. These disorders are the biggest cause of death for children aged 14 years and under.<\/p>\n
It’s easy to participate in Jeans for Genes Day. Just ask people to come to work in their jeans and make a donation of £2. It’s a great way to bring a team, a floor or the whole company together.<\/p>\n
The fun doesn’t have to end at 5.30pm either- you can make a night of it with a pub quiz or karaoke contest. So start the weekend early with Jean for Genes Day!<\/p>\n
