Remarkably, after misfiring the gun, Dante Autello of Chicago (pictured) thought he had just been grazed and carried on working. He only went to hospital the next day after waking up feeling nauseous.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;When they brought in the picture, I said to the doctor &#8216;Is this a joke? Did you get that out of the doctors joke file?  The doctor said &#8216;No man, that&#8217;s in your head.&#8217;&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"left\" src=\"\/images\/NewsImages\/2012\/Dante-Autello-brain-joke.jpg\" style=\"padding:10px;\" alt=\"Dante Autello makes a funny about his brain injury\" \/>Surgeons removed the 3 &frac14;-inch nail from his brain. The nail had come within millimetres of the part of the brain that controls motor function. Autello posted a picture of the X-ray on Facebook as he was being ambulanced between two hospitals.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It really felt like I got punched on the side of the head,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;I thought it went past my ear.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Autello only thought he had been hit on the head because there are no pain-sensitive nerves within the brain itself &ndash; only on the skull.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">* * *<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.paperstone.co.uk\/mailroom-warehouse\/diy-tools\/staple-guns\/l-5627\">Staple guns<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A man had a lucky escape recently when he shot a nail into his head with a nail gun.
