National Work from Home Day will take place on Friday May 16th.<\/p>\n<p>The week is being organised by Work Wise UK, a not-for-profit initiative.\u00a0 The TUC (Trades Union Congress) and CBI (Confederation of British Industry) are involved in the event, so bosses and employees\u2019 interests are equally represented.<\/p>\n<p>The programme this year will focus on five key areas:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Smarter Travel<\/span> \u2013 Changing the time you travel, and using public transport instead of a car can reduce the peak rush hour, and make commuting easier for many.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Mobile Working<\/span> \u2013 Working on the move, instead of in a central office.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Virtual Meetings<\/span> \u2013 Conducting meetings by audio or video conferencing or online instead of travelling.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Working Remotely<\/span> \u2013 The use of remote offices is encouraged in preference to traveling to a central office.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">National Work From Home Day <\/span>will encourage people to work from home for the day instead of commuting to their usual place of work.<\/p>\n<p>So&#8230; why not think about your working practices this Work Wise Week?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UK businesses are being urged to \u201cthink smart\u201d about working practices for the sake of their employees and company profits.
