Filling the spare room with office equipment<\/a> is no longer the preferred choice for those working from home, according to reports. <\/p>\n

Even loft conversions, outbuildings and extensions are starting to disappear from the mind of the homeworker. <\/p>\n

Instead, office furniture<\/a> and office supplies<\/a> are finding their way into the nation’s gardens as flexible working gives people more opportunity to enjoy the natural world. <\/p>\n

The Journal, a newsPaper in the north-east, reports that TV star Linda Barker, gardening king Diarmuid Gavin, political journalist Andrew Marr and property expert Kirsty Allsop have all set up offices in their gardens. <\/p>\n

And Angela McLean, an entrepreneur who has recently moved into the stables in her garden, claims that the notion of having an office in your backyard is not too far-fetched. <\/p>\n

Speaking to the Journal, Ms McLean said: "It’s difficult working from home as there are lots of distractions and it’s harder to ignore a pile of dirty washing.<\/p>\n

"It’s much better to be away from the house. It’s a pleasant environment, looking out on to the garden and it’s also great for the occasions when clients come round."<\/p>\n
