National Trust wardens in north Wales are to get some bizarre new colleagues in the form of a parliament of owls, it has been revealed.<\/p>\n

New office space for National Trust officials was to be built at a site in Cwrt, Gwynedd, but renovation work on the building has discovered that the owls are using the roof space to roost. <\/p>\n

This has led the National Trust to compromise on the development and create a specially-designed loft space for the owls to use. <\/p>\n

The bizarre office environment<\/a> is set to be the first of its kind in the UK and will see wardens and owls working and living side by side.<\/p>\n

Keith Jones, National Trust countryside manager for Llyn and west Snowdonia, told the BBC said: "The Little Owls are part of the make-up of the buildings. <\/p>\n

"I just thought of them as another user and therefore how could we work around them. It’s been very easy – at most times of the day you can see them peering at you."<\/p>\n

A special bird door is to keep the owls and wardens apart though, ensuring that the National Trust’s office equipment<\/a> is kept safe from curious owls. <\/p>\n
