Office equipment<\/a> manufacturer Lexmark has undertaken new research of accountants’ needs regarding office machines<\/a> and printing.<\/p>\n

The firm found that accounting professionals are looking for office equipment and printing solutions which will help them cut down on the use of office supplies<\/a>, as well as reducing storage space needed for retaining documents.<\/p>\n

Lexmark surveyed representatives of public, corporate and government accounting and found that they are seeking office machines<\/a> which help manage high volumes of printing.<\/p>\n

Some 73 per cent of respondents said it was "very important" that printers<\/a> handle large jobs, while 67 per cent valued high-yield supplies and 60 per cent cited a large Paper capacity as essential.<\/p>\n

The study also found that most printing is done in black-and-white and printers<\/a> are used most frequently during tax preparation periods.<\/p>\n

Speed, robustness and ease of use were the three attributes which were chosen as the most important when choosing printers<\/a> for accountancy needs.<\/p>\n

"Storage space and hardcopy file maintenance are significant issues within accounting. The future may not be Paperless, but among mid-size and larger offices, we saw an increasing number of initiatives intended to reduce Paper use," commented Marty Canning, Lexmark vice president and president of its Printing Solutions and Services Division.<\/p>\n
